Hell Hound Concept 3

This is the third and finally Hell Hound concept me and came up with. This one definitely when through the most drastic design change while I was making the reference sheet, but I find this version more appealing and intimidating than how it was before.

This Hell Hound’s role is as the guardians of Hell, its gates, its prisoners, and everything else that resides in it. Its most important role is as the guardian to all the entrances and exits of Hell, which is why its name means Gate Keeper in Latin. Large, strong, and surprisingly fast, this Hell Hound makes sure nothing gets in or out of Hell that isn’t supposed to be there. If by some chance something does get by, these Hell Hounds will sound the call and alert every other Hell Hound, regardless of breed, to start the search and alert any demons who don’t hear the warning.

Hell Hounds, seeing as they have no gender, are not born, but created by Lucifer himself. They trust, obey, and are loyal to their creator from the very beginning as they are instinctively in tune with his wants, desires, and needs, but they need to be trained in order for them to be of any use to lower level demons. They are created as puppies for this reason, since Lucifer cannot create them with all the knowledge and training they need (also, it takes a lot of energy to create a life form, so it is easier to make them younger, and therefore smaller, and just let them grow to their full size naturally. Because it takes up so much energy, only the archangels and God could create life in the beginning, but God took away that power from the remaining archangels after Lucifer’s fall).
